Preordered it in full already so it'll be waiting for me.

Was the single player campaign longer this time? Last time it was way short and it pissed me off because I didn't like the multiplayer so I never played multiplayer so I wasted my money on a short game and regretted buying it and should have just pirated it.
Hoping I can get into the multiplayer this time but if not the single player campaign better provide some more hours or I'm going back to pirating.

yea, my xbox 360 is modded, so I can get any game I want for free. I'm not a total cheap-A$$ though. I buy the games I like and support. But after buying several games for $60 and they turn out to be crap, I just got sick of it. I still haven't finished the campaign. I should be done with it tomorrow night. Are you talking about Modern Warfare or World at War?

I'm talking about COD4. Not world at war, that was a terrible game which I'm glad I pirated because I knew it going to be less than awesome and I ended up playing it for maybe 40 mins tops and deleted it.
I assumed you had it on pc and downloaded it somehow. I know how you feel about dropping nearly $70 a game after taxes and shipping or gas to the store and then turning out to be mediocre or bad game. I've gone through that with several PS3 games now and I'm tired of that shit.
I haven't gamed on a console in many years and then I got my PS3 for GTA4 and MGS4 and Grand Turismo and Little Big Planet and I think console gaming is not what it used to be. I almost hate it now. PC gaming is sooo sooo much better. I rarely play my poor PS3. Too busy playing L4D and Left 4 Dead 2 is nearly out and I paid for that already!
The games I played for the console just didn't impress me. I couldn't believe I paid that much for them after pirating so many pc games that were way better. I do pay for the best ones though, I'm just not going to pay for a game unless I know it's going to be good. The graphics disgusted me on most of the games and some say it's not about the graphics but to me graphics play a big part. I want to be submerged in the game and that means it's gotta look good, play good and keep me wanting more.
Assassin's Creed bored me to death and had the color pallette was awful. Ratchet and Clank was pretty boring even though it got great reviews. Little Big Planet wasn't that much fun because I don't know anyone who has a PS3 and the friends I would have played with moved out of state. Dirt2 was boring and mediocre after playing NFS Shift before Dirt2 came out.
You say MWF2 is awesome and that makes me happy. Spent $65 on that in the mall and I want my money's worth this time. Pissed me off though, usually PC games are $10 less but not this time for some reason.

hmm thats odd. I don't really play computer game much, but I'm definately excited for Diablo 3, dunno if you played 2 or anything but yea, sweet game.
My cousin DLs the games and burns them for me I just give him like a few bucks for the disc and his time. And yea its rediculous to charge $60 for some of these games... So I get them burned first and if its actually a game worth buying I will buy it to support the creators and what they do.
MW2 is definately one of those so far. I'm not so sure that I would pay $65 for the campaign though, I mostly play 360 for the online action

Yeah, well that's why I'm hoping to get into the multiplayer this time. I play counter-strike source, L4D and Team Fortress 2 online. But when I played MWF2 I died so fast I couldn't get better at the game and it pissed me off that the people who were really good at it earned all the perks which only made it easier for them to kill me and thus making it harder for me to get any gameplay in and get better at it. So I said fuck it, I'll go play Valve games.

Haha, you gotta put in the time as a grunt, being cannon fodder.

I'm a 5-star General now, and I still suck balls compared to most of the other players, but I have a good time. You just can't take it personally, even tho it feels like they're singleing you out.
I tend to stick to Team Deathmatch or Free-for-all games.
Good to hear about the new one, I'll be picking it up.
I just got a new Toshiba Qosmio 18.4" gaming laptop from Newegg to replace my old Alienware M7700, which is starting to get creaky with age. Windows 7 seems nice, but basically a pimped-up Vista... Running through Halo 2 right now.

OK, just beat the game. Pretty fuckin sweet I must say. If you can get into the multi-player its definately worth the $65. But personally I dont pay $65 for a single-player only game, I'm all about the online. But I always try to get all of the achievements for the games that I like, so that includes beating the game on veteran, ETC.
I am 10th prestige 55 on MW, and 10th prestige 65 on WaW so yeah, I get some hours in haha. Can't wait for the multi-player on this game though. I just beat Veteran on Cod Waw and still need to finish veteran on MW1.
I just can't believe it's possible to beat a game a week before its realeased haha!

not to mention I payed $40 to get my xbox modded, as well as $30 for the better drive. And now I have easily over 20 games, some of which I still haven't even played yet. The only ones I've bought were Cod: MW, Cod: WaW, GOW2, and I had several more but i traded like 7 games for GOW2.... Gamestop is quite rediculous when it comes to buying your games..

MS is banning people who are playing this game on modded consoles.... you've all been warned

So how many hours was the campaign?

BSOD, Thanks for the warning, but theres no real way to tell. Im doing this very safely. I played it on a Mempory card with hard drive taken out, and ethernet disconnected. I also just got my xbox updated so I can play the WAVE 4 games, and will not play any games until they are Xbox Live Verified by the site that they are DLed from. Alot of people are getting banned because they are playing online, or on their hard drive (they can see any games youve played, play before it comes out= ban haha). Thats just asking for a ban lol.
Kimo, I played the game from ~11 AM til about ~9PM with a few little breaks and a good couple hour break for errands. Not sure on the exact game time but its pretty lengthy, especially on a hard difficulty. I played an easy difficulty, then when I can safely play it on my hard drive Ill beat it on Veteran for the achievements.

So 7 or 8 hours. Same as the last one. Not very long. Like I said, hopefully I get into the multiplayer this time because that's a pretty short campaign for $65 plus two trips to the store.
I'm tired of all these games out these days that are so short. I guess people buy it for the multiplayer but I expect a good story and campaign when I'm dropping premium prices for a game. GTA IV is a prime example of that. 30 hour campaign and I think it was one of the best games of all time. I believe it even broke all time entertainment sales numbers when it came out. Take that halo.
Metal Gear Solid 4 was a pretty sick game too and had a good amount of hours in it even though a lot of that time was lengthy cutscenes.
What happened to games like Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye 007, Banjo Kazooie.
Video games have changed so much and it just seems like the people who make them now just don't put as much effort into them.

Yea, well I just wanted to beat it on easy so I knew the story, then once I can actually play it and get the achievements Ill beat it on veteran. I usually do that for some reason, play a game on easy or normal so I know whats going on and stuff, then beat it on the hardest difficulty. And yes most of the old school games are way better. I don't think you'll have a problem catching onto the MP in this one. There is a "perk" where if you die a certain amount of times in a row without a kill, it activates the perk of your choice. One is extra health for a few minutes, one is steal the other persons class, there are more but I forgot. You is also a perk where you can have 2 weapon attachments which is absolutely awesome. Silencer+Red dot=

Just got done playing MWF2 for 6.5 hours. Chose to play it on hardened. It's got easy, normal, hardened and then veteran I believe. I usually just play games on normal but I decided since this one is so damn short I'd better try to get more time out of it by playing it on the next difficulty level.
I don't think I could beat this on veteran, there were a few parts that I thought I wasn't going to beat on hardened.
I think I'm close to beating the game. I just finished the level where you're supposed to be finding and killing makarov but he's not there and then you have to fend of hoards of baddies while you wait for the "DSM" to download all his files. That level was HARD. Two of my teammates dissappeared when I needed them most and said they were providing sniper protection but it didn't seem to be helping much because they were still coming in the doors from every angle like crazy and kicking my ass and I died a million times because my other team mate died right away so it was just me trying to fight off guys coming from 3 different doorways for like 10 straight minutes.
So far pretty cool game. Graphics are good although they would look a lot better if I had a better pc that wasn't a few years old.
I have 2 complaints about this game. First off it took me nearly 3 hours to install it! It would feeze every time it asked for disc 2 and I put it in and STEAM would just freeze up and task manager couldn't even end that task. Had to restart like 5 times. I think what made it work finally was this:
Certain Steam issues may be corrected by renaming the ClientRegistry.blob and restarting Steam.
1) Completely exit from the Steam client.
2) Go to C:\Program Files\Steam (or the Steam directory that was specified during installation).
3) Locate ClientRegistry.blob and rename this file to ClientRegistryOld.blob.
4) Restart Steam to allow the file to be recreated.
5) Test the issue once more.
So after 3 hours of utter frustration and cursing and nearly throwing my wireless laser mouse across the room, I finallly got to play my game. Only to find out it suffered similar problems that World at War had with the loading videos. The briefings on both games lagged so bad it was unwatchable. I don't know what the hell is wrong with it. On World at War I first thought it froze up because it wouldn't respond and the video wasn't playing but after litterally 2 or 3 mins of being frozen it finally loaded the game and skipped the video. On MWF2 the video plays great while the little loading bar fills up on the bottom of the screen but as soon as the bar is full it starts lagging like mad and you have to skip the video because it's unbearable.
So now I have no idea what's going on in the game. I don't know why I'm flying to different countries and I can't keep track of the characters in the game because almost ALL of the story is told through those stupid briefings. So now I'm pissed off. I wasted my money.
The game makes almost no sense without those videos. One second I'm a soldier in some third world country, the next second I'm a terrorist killing civillians and I later figure out I was posing as a terrorist but really was a military guy undercover? I think. Then I'm a different soldier in the US fighting the russians in DC.
COD4 was better.

I hate that they got rid of dedicated servers and it doesn't look like there's a way to kick someone once hacks start coming out if they haven't already. I'm level 40 now but there's already people over level 60. I guess they never stop playing. Love the perks in the game though. The commando combined with lightweight and marathon makes for a good knife attack and a good way to piss people off.

BSOD was right. Somehow they found a way to track the modded xboxs so they banned over 600,000 people. I heard that they were so strict about this they actually ended up banning some ppl who didn't mod. I got lucky and my step bro wanted a modded xbox since he doesnt play online, and I wanted a legit xbox, so we just traded straight across, but he got the 25+ burned games I had.
PROPS Microsoft, I don't think its right to pirate games but I also dont think its right to sell them all at $60.... when 3/4 suck ass!
