Anyone had good luck with generic vacum hoses?

I'm looking to replace the vacum hoses on my 94ss since it has 200k on it. I have some stumbling issues, low boost and pretty lousy fuel economy. Just wondering if I should go to the local parts store and get some of the lines that will work or if I need to go to the dealer. I really hate to buy a couple hundred dollars worth of dealer stuff if I don't have to.

Buy yourself ten feet of hose from the parts store and go nuts.

Hahaha +1. The only reason dealer hoses are 'better' is because they're molded.
I'd also print out the vacuum hose diagram that's stickied to the top of this sub-forum, that way you can use the correct sizes where they need to be.

Sounds good, I just need to hit up Napa for about 4' of the 1/8" stuff. Has anyone noticed a big improvement by replacing the hoses?

The only one i got from the dealer was the hose for the brake booster, because of the check valve they have captured in the hose.
Other than that, about all mine is generic hose at this point......

The hose needs to be formed in a mold. The generic hose you get at a parts store was create in a straight mold.

the factory hose contain silicone as well. better for heat resistance. my car def felt better after replacing all the hoses
