Not sure if I posted these, but here are some comparison pics of the JDM exhaust manifold and the stock USDM turbo legacy manifold.

You can definitely see that the JDM manifold keeps the individual cylinders separated for much longer. Not sure if that change the exhaust note/sound. The crossover pipe is pretty much the same as the USDM crossover pipe.

Once I get the EGT bung weleded on the up-pipe I'm going to send everything off to get coated by Swaintech. I'll post some pictures when everything gets back.

Here's the stock SS mani vs the RS-RA mani;

Looks like the same setup you have. :-)

I got these exhaust manifolds on yesterday and started the car up. It sounded slightly different from what I remember. But that could just be in my mind. Almost sounded a little more raspier. I spent some time trying to find an exhaust leak, and couldn't find anything.

There is something different in the sound. I can't put my finger on it, but it does sound different than it did before....

I had the same reaction when I fired mine up... rest of the exhaust was the same, but the car just sounded meaner, especially at full throttle.

I put most of it down to the heads and the 2.5L block... I guess the headers do make a difference.

Yeah, the headers are the only difference. The crossover & up-pipe are the same. The runners are separated for a little while longer, but that's it.

Glad I'm not the only one that had the same reaction. :lol:
