I found STI injectors off of an 04 does any one know the size they ran? Also they should just pop into N/A 2.2 rails correct?

I believe they are 550cc if it's a USDM STi and they will fit into 92-94N/A rails.

They'll also fit in Turbo rails too

I've heard otherwise on the turbo rails, i guess the legacy sport injectors and rails are one of a kind from subaru.

Would I be ok putting the STI injectors in before getting the Revtronix chip. What problems would I run into if I did this?

The '90-91 (Auto- @ least) rails are the same as the turbo rails - been there done that. The JDM 440cc (gray) and 480cc (yellow) both fit either. (Thanks to 555BCTurbo for that info.)
The USDM STi Yellow side-feeds fit the '92-94 NA, from what I've read on here and NASIOC.
When I ran the 480s on the way to get tuned for the Revtronix chip, it ran - but not well. Over 300 miles and the ECU never figured them out.
FWIW, there is someone on here that runs the 480s successfully w/the stock ECU, but most max it out w/the 440s.
So, the 550's would be 'iffy'.

The car wouldn't run with 550's. It would simply inject too much fuel and flood the engine.

Suprisingly my car ran and idled fine with the 550's and no tune. I did stay out of boost though.

what about running the vf39 w/top mount ic, sti yellows 550 and regulating the fuel pressure? could you dumb it down enough to make it work w/o aftermarket management

to fit into the 92-94 n/a rails, did any of the seals/washers on the injector needed to be replaced?
thanks.

Nope nothing had to be replaced, the sti yellow 550's drop right into the 92-94 n/a rails.

So wait Josh, you specified 92-94 N/A rails. What about a newer 2.2 liter like a 96 legacy? still the same rails? Are the 92-94 the only N/A rails that will work?

I looked at the 98 2.2L rails next to 92-94 NA rails and they looked the same to me. I'm pretty sure they are the same as far as length and mounting points, but would have somebody doublecheck the injector fitment. I think the 98 2.2 injectors are the same shape as the STi's, but not 100% sure.

Little off topic...
But what are folks paying for these? What's the going rate for 550's? Low and high. Need to get a set before going up to Revtronix this spring.
Thanks in advance for the info.

I picked my N/A rails at the junk yard for $11.99 each. Just went and bought STI Yellow 550's for $120. Just had to patient and shop around.

Newer ones may work, but I can't say for 100% certain that they'll work. I do know the 92-94's work.

I've got my yellow top STI side feeds already in my 93 N/A rails i picked up from the junk yard, just waiting for the chip now. The injectors dropped right into the N/A rails no problems. I'll try to put up some pics soon, i cleaned the rails in a ultrasonic cleaner so they look all pretty now.

I bought my set of yellow 550s off a member here for 180 i think... On ebay they're going for 250-300+
As far as maybe an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, Would that help with the 550s?

I got my injectors of Ebay for around $200. They were cleaned and flow tested but never installed, I guess the guy sold his car before he got to use them. BTW, they do not flow 550cc. I got a printout from witchhunter.com and after cleaning, 2 flowed 530cc,1 was 529cc, and 1 was 531cc. Yes, these are the yellow 550cc injectors off the STI everyone talks about, I'm running them in 92-94 N/A rails. I'm not saying they all flow 530cc, but mine sure as hell do.
These were tested at the standard of 43.5psi(3 Bar).

Mine were a little closer, but still weren't all at or above 550

Interesting. My 440s flowed right on at 440cc. The flow bench is kinda cool if haven't seen one before.
Also I see a lot of 565's for sale. I take it they won't work in the rails.
Is there a chart that makes all the MY injector choices clear?
I've seen something for tranny's like this and would love to put my hands on something like it for stock injectors...
Wow, if it included rail types that would be great too.
Suppose that's a lot to ask tho.
Thanks in advance for the perspective and info.
