So on a scale of 1-5 beers, how many do I need to smuggle in to watch the movie?

Garbage like Twilight is why I have to write what I write.

I walked up to a chick at a bar the other night and started talking to her... but before I could even get her name, she said "You're not Robert from Twilight, so I'm not going to sleep with you."

Okay, not really.

Still, the rabid fascination with this drivel surpasses my understanding.

I'd honestly break up with the girlfriend before being dragged to see it.

I don't understand how people get so worked up for such trite, bland fare. There are things out there that people are fanatical about that I don't like, but I can understand the fascination as it might be unique or powerful, but Twilight? There's a lot of music out there that's like it as well—it's not even that it sucks so hard that makes it suck so hard, it's that it's so damn bland and yet the mediatainment is completely saturated by it that it ends up grating on your nerves. It's like being a rabid, hardcore fan of Camrys. I don't hate Camrys and I don't love them, and most owners feel the same way—they get the job done as advertised—but if I had to be exposed to screaming fans and endless talk shows about them (here's where the comparison weakens so let's just pretend that the Camry was being represented by an effeminate metrosexual male and an averagely attractive female you'd hit on in a bar when the real hot ones are gone and it's her or the sweat hogs eyeing you with a desperate hunger you're not sure is about sex or food giving you nightmare visions of them riding you, smothering you with their fat, and performing some sick cannibal ritual with your corpse), I sure as hell would!

That and, dammit, that bitch is making serious money for turning out garbage. But I suppose that's the way of all entertainment. Maybe I should get castrated so I can write stuff that will sell.

Is it bad that I had no idea what the hell you guys were talking about until I googled "twilight"?

... Kill your TV'S!!

I don't see it on TV as they don't seem to run the ads on History Channel—it's all over the internet! Though in my case, being an author, having a curmudgeonly friend who's an editor, and a lesbian sister obsessed with sci-fi and vampires and shit (who hates Twilight) means it's unavoidable.

No, not at all, I'm quite jealous. Every damn girl I know is going to see that retarded movie. Undoubtedly my mom will even find a way to go see it, but that's mainly because she's a librarian and it's based on a book.

On thurday night there was a line of people (mostly freshman girls and the tools they drug along) 200 feet long waiting for a midnight showing for this, and it was 10 PM. Kids were doing homework and who knows what on their laptops.

I find it funny that people will sit in line, outside for three or four hours for crappy entertainment instead of waiting two days to go see it.

Well then they wouldn't be able to tell their friends "OH MY GAWDZZZZ I TOTALLY WAITED ALL NIGHT!!!! I AM HELLA COOOLZZZZ!!!!!!"
