ok , so i have read, and reread the suspension compendiums....

i have a 90 n/a wagon that is swapped to an ej205.stock engine as far as i know, besides the intake.everything that is not stock as i learn more will be replaced with stock.as i want to maintain reliability.(i have a tendency to break shit :lol: )

anyways, so with the swaybar FAQ fresh in my mind i headed to the junkyard yesterday.and found an airride wagon and swwoped on the rear swaybar!WOOT!

i am working on getting the oldschool stuffs sold so that i can make a move on the other suspension bits.

mainly, i have my eye on some gr2's but am not ruling out agx's.but as much as i have read,i think that i am a little apprehensive to pick springs.

it seems that i will be driving this car on really shitty roads as a daily, but will be going after some autocross and occasional rallycross.i have a very aggressive style.and, i might add, am more used to gravel than anything else, as that is what i learned to drive on, in a rwd car.

fast on pavement is gonna be a lesson for me...so....

i need to decide on springs, and get a front swaybar.but i think besides getting the motor back to reliable, it is possible to make this rig a better ride altogether.

my biggest quandry being springs, and having the worst roads in washington to drive on.......i wonder what mix is the best for me.

i'd do stock springs. definitely keep the wagon rears since they are stiff, 190lb/in. for the front you could get some wrx stockers which are a bit stiffer than the legacy ones.
you might even want to go to outback struts if youre driving on some really horrible roads.

+1 on that^^ Stock springs and GR-2s are a good combo, handles well but won't knock your teeth out.

im leaning towards sti pinks from 04.....i do not want to lift the car....
i will not go with those.i will go with wrx struts, matter they be agx or gr2 is unknown.....
and with those i do not want to go with stock springs,rate of about 137f/190r

the wrx stockers are about 163f/163r, not much of an improvement.

i want better handling.the pinks are 257f/217/r

although the idea of two sets of suspension bits for the winter would be nice.....swap to snow tires and struts :lol: then go back down in the spring.

but back to the point.....

the sti rates actually work really well on dirt and gravel.

An AGX/ ground control sleeve combo could get you the ride height and spring rates you want, but does cost a bit more than take offs.

Somewhere around 200-250 all around and 10 or 12" springs work pretty well.
