My friend and I are looking at this 94 wagon with 133000 miles on it and it's super clean well taken care of, but the car is gutless. It drives like my brat with the stock engine in it. I couldn't hear the turbo at all and it never seemed like it kicked on. Is the turbo bad?

have you driven a turbo legacy before? The turbo is very quiet stock, and although you should be able to "feel it kick in", its nothing to get too excited about the stock turbo is pretty damn small. Also if its an auto that might contribute to it, I've only had 5MTs so I cant say for sure.

Ya I have a 5spd turbo my father in law also has a 5spd turbo so i know how hard they kick, and this one has literally zero kick it's slow as balls. I wasn't joking when i said it's as fast as my subaru brat with it's stock engine.

It prob needs a good tune up, replacement of hoses and the usual wear and tear items. Prob has monster boost leak due to degraded components.

i just replaced the downpipe on mine. When I took it apart i had found the gasket had craked and was causing a bit of a leak. I replaced it and I felted a noticable difference. The dealship should have some in stock. It was about $30 CAN.

Is the check engine light on? These cars stock realistically aren't slow at all and should DEFINITELY be alot faster then a stock brat haha. Stock 0-60mph was high 7's and 1/4 is high 15's.
