its the one circled. aparently a local mechanic said this part not working was the reason the AC is not working. This is from a camera phone picture and the car is not local (parents home) so i was hoping to get a part and mail it to them eventually. if anyone has a name that would be great or even better a part to sell.

from what my dad said the part usually comes with the silver peice attached. he went to a junk yard but they didnt have any similar cars. if anyone has advice to add that would be great.

thanks

That's the pressure switch that monitors refrigerant levels and system pressure.

10 points to Phyrra! :-)

You can jump the contacts in the plug to bypass the switch, if the AC works, the switch IS the problem. If the AC doesn't work, keep looking.

My beater wagon has an issue with the relay under the dash. I can hear the damn thing clicking at about 100 hz at times. The bitch of it that it has a temp probe in the evaporator core, and the dash would need to be pulled to get the relay out anyways. I'm going to do it and pull the heater core so I don't have to crack the system open and loose all my R12.

You didn't mention what year it was so I'm assuming it's the 94 in your signature.

If so I believe the part number you're looking for is 73031AA011 and it's called Liquid Tank and on 1stsubaruparts.com it's $93.56 and they call it Hvac - Air conditioner - Drier.

In the diagram is appears as if you must buy the silver tank to get the wire you circled.

I have a brand new one (dryer assy) in the box sitting on the shelf at the shop, but it's not for sale. Sourced through Car Quest. I'll get the part number and post it up later...

Be aware that for the 90-92 cars part number depends on compressor model!!!

BTW, think it was like $63 my cost...
