No, I don't think it is. I have 2 turbos from my EJ20H legacy twin turbo motor and they're VF13 and VF14 I believe. I thought VF10 was bigger, these ones are pretty small.

Yes. JDM Legacy GT single turbo 1989-1993.

VF10 is an EJ20G turbo off a Legacy RS with Automatic Tranny...


VF8 is manual tranny...


VF10 is a good turbo for quick spool and some power

Ah, ok. I have a VF8 on my hybrid setup. I was told it was slightly larger than a TD04, although it certainly doesn't feel any more powerful. I also suffer from some boost creep in the upper rpms.

I know, thats why I said it doesn't look as small as the vf11. I just worded it wrong haha. I figured the VF10 would be smaller than the VF11, but that appears to be a little bigger actually.

lol dude i dont know i found that pic on google pics so i could be wrong but i saw a vf10 the other day at a friends house and it is not like the vf11

With the numbering system, size of unit doesn't correspond with number. It's the higher the number, the newer the unit.

The 8 came before the 10, and the 10 came before the 11...so on and so forth.

ahhh I see. Well there is an obviously large size difference between the vf11 and the vf39, and wasn't sure what exactly the numbers meant....

not trying to cause an argument or anything, but just something I have always wondered but never known. I always figured it correlated to size, but thats why I asked because I wasnt sure

Someone mentioned this before, but the number doesn't relate to it's size. It relates to the release number, eg. MkIV, MKV, etc.

14.7 PSI:
IHI VF 23/24 423 CFM at 14.7 PSI
IHI VF-22 435 CFM at 14.7 PSI


18 PSI:
IHI VF 23/24 388 CFM at 18 PSI
IHI VF-22 460 CFM at 18.0 PSI < flows much more at 18 PSI

Doing a google search, VF8>VF10>VF11 in regards to flow rate, but I didn't see any numbers.

So as stated above it's not about size but age......the older numbers are lower, but some are more powerful than the newer/bigger numbers: VF22> VF39
