towing with a t-leg

I am thinking of getting a hitch for my legacy. what all have people towed with out any problems?

Which transmission?
It is my strong opinion that most of our cars will two a load as big as them with the only the front brakes needing an upgrade so you don't kill yourself going down hill.

it has just a run of the mill 4.11 5-speed but i change transmissions about once a year any way so it's not really a concern for me.
i don't see me using the legacy to tow in the mountians it has power but not that much power.

I've got a hitch for my wagon, but found the spot welds on the passenger support box are blown out (apparently a pretty solid rear hit...) so the hitch instal is now on hold until I do the body swap to teh '91 LS Wagon shell I got.
I'm hoping the NA leg has enough umph to pull the baot short distances (1/4 mile and up the launch ramp). Boat is 21' Kelvar outboard, about 2900 with trailer.
Not planning any open road type towing...
