Yesterday I was driving about 35mph in my 92 legacy turbo when I herd a pop and the car died. I popped the hood I could see the timing belt, it broke the timing cover  . So we took it home on a toe rope. I took of the timing coves to find an idler pulley in peaces in the case. So my question is is the motor ruined did it bend the valves at all?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that your engine should be non-interference so there shouldn't be any damage to the valves.

^^ your 100% correct non interference.

Buy a cheap good kit like this. Has a Japanese belt, and the idlers were japanese too.

Use your original bolts!

Its good to hear that my motor is ok. So a new belt and new idlers and it will be OK That scared the shit out of me I thought the motor was toast.

Replace all the idlers as well as the tensioner pulley. It might be a good idea to do the water pump while you are in there....depending on when it was done last.

The cog-idler blew up on my white legacy last fall. The belt didn't jump, but it was real close!

Wish I could have gotten one of those kits when I did mine, didn't pay much more than that, but every bit counts!
