I have decided on a DD set-up...

Aight here is the deal: we are all cheap sob's so here is going to be my new DD set up on my 93 wagon...
1) find some 02-03 wrx struts for cheap, I still should be able to find some take offs from nasioc... I choose these because I have done my home work and they are the struts with the straight springs, and I am guessing wrx struts should have about the same qualities as the gr-2 strut
2) find some stock 02-03 bugeye springs
3) profit (that should be in step two sorry)
4) Fit the wrx spings and struts on the front with my top hats.
5) See how it sits... And since the wrx wagon rear springs are weak sauce as per the stickies... cut stock rear 93 springs to get the right stance... and in total lower the rear about 3/4 of an inch and the front about 1 inch. And for those that have not cut springs there is a calculater out there to find spring rate and junk, and if you do it right it does not effect the integrity of the spring.
6) (caveat) there may be some 99 outback struts out there with my name on it but I would bet they are close in valving to the wrx struts
7) install... drink some high life... install repeat
alighnment
9) HOON!
For all of you nay sayers for cutting springs... this car already has 236k and I dont want to dump money into an old car so I am going cheap. I do suppose the car should be about right if not under dampened in the rear since I should be going from 190 to about 225 for spring rates and the wrx struts are valved for 160, but hey it is better than no struts at all... The front should be perfect and should make the car nice and tight...
oh and all of this should cost me betwixt 100 and 250 bucks and out handle (tire for tire) a wrx....(bold but true)
I will be documenting all of this and taking pics so all newbs that dont read the stickies can get a handful and shut up... I will do ride height and all that junk, howerver any tips or tricks would be great and fyi in the last few years I have swapped over 4 sets of springs in my neon so believe it or not I have an idea at what I am doing contrary to the newb status
great board and thanks for the info and help
