Does anyone have drawings for the 5MT with dimensions? I'm specifically looking for the length from bell housing to tail, widest dimension behind the bellhousing, and the highest point of the case behind the bellhousing.

Forget the drawings—does anyone have a manual transmission hanging around, a tape measure, and a couple minutes to perform the few measurements?

If nobody gets you covered today Steve I'll measure tonight and report back tomorrow. I've got a tranny and motor sitting out of a car that I can easily get measurements on.

Awesome, thanks! I'm at a standstill on my Tigershark model until I at least have a rough idea of the size of the thing.

Steve, I've got dimensions and will get them posted up this evening after my work day is over. They're not full engineering drawing detail but they should provide a pretty good envelope.

Okay, the tranny has a couple of tapers depending on if you are looking at the side or from the top. I've tried to get the envelope on these and some of them are eyeballs but I think it'll give you a good idea of general space requirements. If you end up getting serious I could supply an empty core for shipping charges (empty core being the full tranny minus all gears and diffs).
Total length - 31"
Bellhousing - 13" wide, 12" tall on the motor but a total of 16" since the tranny dips down just forward of the mount to the motor.
Vertical Profile (looking at the side)
- Main taper finishes 10" aft
- Taper from bellhousing to about 10" tall from 10" aft to the end of the tranny
Horizontal Profile (looking from the top)
- First taper ends at 5" aft and is 8" wide at end of the taper
- Second taper ends at 12" aft and is about 7" wide at the end of the taper going aft to the end of the tranny
- A envelope 9" wide would cover the tranny width from the end of the first taper all the way back with a little room to spare on the sides for the various selector switches and such
The start does stick out on the top corner of the tranny as you know and has not be included in the above measurements. So, the width at the top with the starter is 14" and the starter extends aft about 8".
Hopefully this helps you some Steve. Let me know if you have any other specific questions and I'll see what I can do. I'm looking at dropping the motor and tranny back in the car tomorrow but I do have an extra that's half dis-assembled I could get some measurements on.

That should more than do it for now, thanks!
