Welcom to the BBS.

Can you elaborate on what you are calling "squishy"?

These cars tend to have a bit of pedal travel before the brakes actually engage. This is due to the tandem diaphragm brake booster setup. Single diaphragm boosters can be swapped in and dramatically improve the brake pedal feel.

Does the brake pedal slowly drop to the floor once you've depressed the brake? Or does it stay firm?

its hard for me to explain. the brake pedal feels really soft. still works great. but i nearly have to press it almost to the floor. to were it hits the abs. so everytime i i press the brakes to stop the abs does its thing and makes almost a pop boungy noise.

hmmmm.... in experiences my ABS never made any noises unless if the brakes "locked up" trying to stop down a hill in the snow or something like that. My ABS started acting up as well a few months ago so I just took out the fuse til I decide if I want to get rid of it completely

You may have master cylinder issues.

What order did you bleed the brakes in, and how did you bleed them?

What info would you like?

They can be found on the 93-mid 90's rear drum non-abs Imprezas.

straight swap? The extra travel in my brake pedal irritates me. much rather have a firm pedal.
