Rally Legacy

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the group and new to Subaru. I need advice in building a Legacy
for Canadian Rallying. I have a '92 2.2 turbo sedan with Tein rally
suspension, this week it gets a ACT 6 puck clutch. 8 point roll cage goes in
Saturday Feb 10th. I have to run a 36mm turbo restrictor and want to know
how to regain hp loss. Any sugestions on remaping computer or increasing
boost? I have plans to mod the exhaust system to a larger system without
cats. I am not allowed to port or polish my intake.
Any other bits of advice?

Hi mark, welcome to the group. =)

A simple boost controller will let you increase the boost. Hallman and
Turbo-XS (i think that's the name) both make simple cheap, effective manual
boost controllers. You could go more expensive and get an APEX-i AVC-R which
is an electronic boost controller that's really sweet, but again, more
expensive. An aftermarket drop-in chip will help as well (if you can find
one). Or, of course, if you're running in an unlimited or "open" class like
we have in the US, you could just go out and get a whole new computer.
TEC-II, MoTec, Haltec, and Link all make systems that will let you train
your car to do just about anything you want it to.

Other ideas include lightened flywheel for quicker revs, an Unorthodox
Racing lightened main pulley will help, Innercooler, free-er flowing exhaust
and intake will help a lot too.

Are you allowed to balance and blueprint? That helps too.

Hey, that's right up the road, about 2-3 hours.

Unfortunatly, Im not allowed to lighten the flywheel, I will look into the
boost controller. I have a local lead through a sponsor to someone who can
reprogram the computer, he used to work for Spoon or something like that. I
just need to find correct mapping. I will be running in P4 until I find a
suitable 2.0 turbo motor to switch to Group N.

I hope to come and run at ORV at least once this year...

I am contesting the Western Canadian Championship this year. 4 events in
Alberta, 2 events in British Columbia.
