Ive searched for a bit now as to good sources for oem parts as a cheaper price. Found 1stsubaruparts.com

Ive looked at the gates racing timing belt for my dohc swap, i also need the idlers and water pump. A lot of people suggest oem but what are the companies that make these quality parts? I dont appreciate the overhead price.

Is there an upgrade for the ej22t with ej25d heads for the timing idlers and such? any part numbers? Im buying these for the 2.2 or are all of the idlers the same on phase 1 and 2 engines?

Timing belt tensioner upgrade or quality tensioner? - Im using a '99 2.5 updated timing bracket for the newer style tensioner.

At the dealership everything was over $100 a piece. The water pump, the tensioner, the timing belt (which ill use a 2.5sti one)

1stsubaruparts.com up in renton, WA is where I buy ALL my subaru parts. They charge a minimum of about $12.95 shipping which sucks on small part orders but you can't beat the prices anywhere else for OEM parts.

Use oem parts whenever possible as they are very high quality and are the perfect specs for your engine.

Idlers are all the same on all EJ series engines. These you can get off ebay if you want to save some money.

Gates makes good belts. I think they may even make the OEM belts.

Just use the stock tensioner.

1stsubaruparts.com is great. They have good prices and usually ship quickly but I guess that's because they're in the same state.

Appreciated thanks.

You dont need to replace the 99+ tensioners very often? I think the engine it came off of had around 100k.
