I bought a 1999 Legacy Outback with a bad EJ25 still installed and extra EJ25 (both from the same Seller ( :smt019 )) that I thought I could repair to put back in the car. See below:

#1:

1999 Subaru DOHC Phase 1 EJ25D out of a Legacy Outback.
- 142K miles

- Bad rod/crank bearing(s) was what I was told - I don't know if the head gaskets were replaced.

- I bought the car, swapped in an EJ22, sold the car and was going to use the heads/intake on another project....but decided not to tackle that job. No AC/Alternator/Power steering pump.

Make an offer (also listed on CL):

#2:
1999 DOHC Phase 1 EJ25D from a Legacy Outback w/60K miles
- The Seller ( :smt019 ) said the head gaskets went @ 60K and the original owner chose a JDM replacement vs. fixing the HG....Riiiggghhht.
- The Subie mech I sent it to said that when the HG blew it was ran too long an burned a hole in the cylinder wall, basically making it a 'boat anchor'.
- This has the JDM's Intake Manifold, which doesn't have the EGR - block and heads are USDM.
- The wiring harness has been cut in a few places.
- The heads and crank should still be useable.
- Make me an offer.
- I do have the cam pulleys and the TB covers but one is cracked:

Hehe :). I can't take all the parts off your hands because I'm actually trying to reduce my spare motor count (you want to help with that ? ;)) but if you end up breaking down the one motor with the bad cylinder walls I'd be interested in the crank.

I'd also be interested in the oil pressure fitting that's screwed into the block.

But by all means, if you can find someone to take it whole - go for it.

And for anyone wondering about Wtdash - you won't find many better/honest sellers.

just by the fact he does not go out of his way to name or bad talk the seller.

yes he did tell us what was wrong. still he did it like a gentleman.

if these were closer where I get to pick them up I would have liked to get these. I'm in new york and your are a little bit farther west of me.

GLWS. BE WELL. Bepa
