First off, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section, feel free to move this or let me know and I will move to the correct section.

I stumbled upon a turbo for sale on Ebay the other day and need help deciding if it's the real deal. I'm just going to post the item# so I don't upset anyone with a long Ebay link.

Item number: 110488252886

I've found alot of pictures of this turbo online, but none have a polished compressor housing. I've sent a message to the seller but still no response, which makes me really wonder about this. Do you guys think this is the real deal or a generic ebay 20g trying to be passed off as a Frank 50? I know it's hard to tell from the pics, but any insight would be helpful. If this is a real Frank 50 it's a great deal. My gut is saying avoid, but it's very tempting since he has 100% positive feedback.

Original Message sent to Seller:
Did you polish the compressor side or did you buy it like this? This is the one with an internal wastegate, right? Does it come with the actuator? Do you have to use a special oil feed line on this, is it included? Do you have any paperwork to show this is what it is? I'm sorry to ask all these questiions but from the pics it looks like it could be a generic ebay 20g. I would hate to throw away $500 on ebay junk, but at the same time I would hate to miss out on a good deal on a real Frank 50.

Thanks, Brian

That looks like it, thanks. I think this might be genuine since people have started bidding on it and is up to $480 now. The seller finally responded last night, here's the message:

"It is ewg setup with flapper welded shut. These turbos run better with ewg setup. It came polished, It has JG stamped on bottom which is juan garza who I believe builds the frank 50's. I could be wrong."

Couldn't find anything about a Juan Garza that builds turbos, so not sure about this. I was kinda hoping to wait until my motor is built before going EWG, I would also like to rotate then too. I think I may be jumping the gun a lil with this turbo, I probably need to focus my attention elsewhere. If the price stays reasonable I might consider it, but if it gets to high my money would be better spent somewhere else.

Thanks, Brian
