Got some pics of my car last week and figured I'd share. I know it has its flaws so I expect some "good" comments. Also I'm a looong time reader, recent first time poster. If you look up the member name tournwagon, this was my first I.D. but I forgot my password and the e-mail account I used to start it. Had the TLeg about a year when I created that account.

I'll try to make a mod list this weekend and post it in the member's car list thread.

Later, Brian

Thanks, It looked alot better when I first got it. Never been in an accident till I got this thing, been hit 3 times and a tree limb fell on it but they helped finance the go fast bits :D . None of the accidents were my fault, it even got hit when I wasn't in it! I tell people it likes to scrap, can't leave it alone for 5 minutes without it getting into a fight. I had alot of plans for the body but they've been set back until I get the motor and tranny BUILT, until then it's sleeptastic :smt015

Did you paint the interior that light color or is that from another car?

All the interior bits were painted with Dupli-Color High Performance Vinyl & Fabric Coating, part# DUPHVP109. I did not use primer, just scrubed with Castrol Super Clean, rinsed with clean water, and let FULLY air dry. Considering this was my first interior job (had no clue what I was doing, just dove in)and it is over 3 years old, it has held up very well. I removed all the door panels to do the handles/trim, and also wraped the door cards with faux suede. One of the more awkward moments in my life was being the only guy in Jo-Ann Fabric browsing through fabric, I got a lot of odd looks. I removed the fabric on the speaker covers and painted these as well, it looks alot better than the loose fabric and now you can see my pioneer speakers, sounds better too. I recommend the speaker grill mod to everyone even if you just paint them black, use light coats or else it will fill in the holes with paint. I'd say the gauge panel was the hardest, I went through alot of aluminum before I got it just right. I've also had the entire sunroof assembly out to seal the tracks, thank god I have a wagon

What size gauges are those?

Is that aluminum engine turned?

I had to go to Jo Ann Fabrics a few months ago to get a dark red cloth to cover the table for my book expo and I was the only guy there as well. Surprisingly, there were a few honies there, but I'm in that shitty in-between age of being too old for the college-age girls and way too young for the old ladies that made up the rest of the customer population. All the women my age are the rejects nobody wanted or are still living in denial trying to save a bad marriage and aren't divorced yet. And when they do get divorced, they'll probably have kids anyways. Julius Caesar never friggin' had this problem. So, he conquered the Gauls. I could conquer France. Anyone could conquer France!

The gauges are 2 1/16"", from left to right are oil pressure, boost/vacuum, coolant temp, I turned the boost gauge a lil clockwise to get a better view. They barely fit and had to make a lil room on the back side of the plastic trim to get it just right. I had to put my trans temp gauge under these, where the ashtray used to be. I will admit you have to glance down a bit, but I didn't want all my gauges where everyone could see them from outside the car, with the exception of the LM-1, it was a success.

Is that aluminum engine turned?

Not sure what you mean be this. It's in the stock position with STI mounts, the turbo inlet boot is slightly turned. Did you mean tuned? Just the stage 2 td04 chip from revtronix, works very well except for boost control, I think my BCS took a shit awhile ago. I've been keeping boost below 16psi for now until I get the user tunable version, don't want to blow it up before I get a good tune. Cruising at 45mph then stomping it gives me a good amount of torque steer, I would like enrichment a lil sooner around 5psi vs the 7psi it's at now. Also, I have zero knock.

This spinner is engine-turned:

It's probably just smudged, but in the pics, the aluminum panel you have looks patterned like a light engine turning.

Was the suede straight forward? I'm thinking of doing that with my wagon.

Suede was pretty easy, just used 3M headliner adheasive and black RTV to mount the cards back. It was a huge pain getting the door cards off, Subaru uses some SUPER DUPER HEMAN SHIT to glue these on with. Some doors where easier than others, just take your time or you'll tear them up. It is almost impossible to get the old fabric off, I just cleaned it really well and applied it over the old, you cannot tell or even feel it's underneath. If you do tear a card, the new fabric will hold it together, just wrap and glue the fabric to the backside of the card, then trim remainder with razor blade. When you glue the fabric to the back, if you stretch it to the middle some you can form the card back to the original "tight" shape. When I did mine I thought, oh shit I just ruined my perfectly good door panels, kinda like when I did my headlights the first time  . Just take your time or maybe get a used door panel to practice on, a heat gun would probably be very helpful. The suede has still not pulled away from the cards ,even with the old fabric under them. The best way is to remove the old fabric, but like I said this is almost impossible. I know people who have done headliners without removing the old fabric because it looked fine,it didn't take long before they started sagging. Not a good idea on headliners but worked fine on my door cards.

The panel is just standard aluminum sheet that is used for gutters, slightly formed by hand to fit the curves. I service a fleet of trucks for a roofing company, so I can get pretty much what I need.

Where in FL are you?

Gainesville. Good to see a neighbor in fl, last time I went to Orlando some punk stole my TURBO AWD badge, lol I guess he thought it would make his honda or whatever faster. I've heard there is a awd dyno down there somewhere, any idea where, maybe Tampa? Hopefully I'll need this info in a couple months if revtronix ever gets the user tunable version out, any info/exp would be awesome.

Thanks, Brian

Figured i'd cut this from my Post Your FMIC Pics post to add a lil more info.

This is the CXRacing GC8 93-01 FMIC from Ebay, I only had to cut one pipe and it's the one that goes to the TB(where the long coupler is). I had to cut alot off the car but anything that left an open seam was welded closed. I also stitch welded most of the factory seams while I was in there, this is supposed to help stiffen things up, IDK. The base of the k&n air filter is a 5.5'' velocity stack which tapers to 3''(I wanted something different than a pod filter, this was actually cheaper too), the mug mod is spare 2.5'' IC piping used in conjunction with some A/C line I got from the junk yard. This setup works very well for me, and I have no problems with MAF readings even though it's so close to the filter(I attribute this to the velocity stack). This is the best intake I have made to date for the TLeg, and the turbo is VERY LOUD!!! Yes, that is a coke bottle for the coolant reservoir tank, it draws and expells just like the factory and the plastic holds up very well. I will fix this in the future but it's not at the top of the list as there is no functional problem.

The one braided coolant hose is the only one left. this is to remind me of where I started oh so long ago(all show no go, Fast and Frustrated, learning period). Don't ask about the colored electric tape on the looms

evolutionmovement, I realized when I got home you where talking about the gauge panel in the 2nd pic, not the air dam underhood. This is 1/8 or 1/16 aluminum stock that I brushed slightly with a sanding/roloc disc and a pneumatic gasket grinder, probably what you saw in the pic. BTW, WOW, that is one BUILT top. How long does it spin?

I'm 99% sure Titan Motorsports has an AWD dyno. They just opened up a huge new shop by Orlando Int'l Airport. They're not cheap, but they're good.

Central Florida Turbo has one too, I believe. But they have a reputation for blowing up Subarus on dynos :?.
