I don't hate you ;)

In fact, I have the same badge, except mine is on the passenger side dash, as my car is completely debadged on the outside.....

Haha thanks Matt!

I was thinking about debadging it, but frick man, that S4 badge just means so much! Lol.

Yeah.... I like the badgless look though. Plus nobody knows what it is, even the cops! I got a parking ticket for snow removal and I talked to the cop a few weeks later when I paid the fine. It took him 15 minutes to figure out what kind of car it was, he ended up having to call the plate in! Hahahaha!!!! He said he kept walking around the car trying to figure it out and couldn't. Then he told me he thought my car was "totally awesome". He wouldn't let me out of the ticket though. lol

Mine's a real sleeper from the back or side. The big ass FMIC kind of gives things away from the front though. ;)

:? what year would this be?

Either way I like S4s, keep up on regular maintenance though! Don't want to have any extra repair bills from neglecting things on this car.

After I build Tigershark, I almost want to park it in a ticket area on purpose and hang around so I can watch the meter maid try to figure it out.

Nice, not an Audi fan, but still a nice car.

Hows it do vs a stage 2 twin scroll spec C'd STI?

It's a 2000. I bought it from the original owner and he has ALL of the receipts and service records. It's a stack about 1.5" thick. It's nice to know that the car was taken care of well.

Hahahaha I'm sure it would get raped against that.

I have a 2000 and I love the car. I just wish it was as easy and cheap to work on as the subie. Word of caution.. save your money for repairs. It seems like anything you do to the car requires the bumper and core support to be removed. Mine is parked right now as I am pretty sure one of the turbos sprung and oil leak and to get to them it is an engine and tranny pull. When I get the subie's tranny done I have that to look forward to as I can't see paying what they want to do it. And then you have the parts cost, which, well I won't even go there.

Enjoy yours, They really are an awesome car. I'm just pissed at mine right now.

Hahaha thanks for the words of caution! I've been reading up on all of the Audi/S4 forums out there. Turbos on these things seem to go fairly easily. Though my car has over 100,000 miles, it was driven by one, 70 year-old owner. He said he was always easy on it (taken somewhat lightly, of course) and he DEFINITELY kept up on the maintenance.

I'm thinking that I'll save up for the RS4 turbos or possibly just a GT28 and once the stock turbos blow (or if I have the money) swap the new turbo(s) on.

So far, I really love this car. It's nice on the outside, EXTREMELY nice on the inside (such an upgrade from the Leggy) and pulls harder than the Leggy. Haha.

That's why I went with a UrS4. Sure, the parts are still super expensive but the AAN 20VT is much more reliable and I do not have to take the front of the car off to work on it. ;)

I am probably going to be going with a full RS2 build soon. Will net 286 awhp and 336 awtq. That or for a little more coin I will be going with the GT3071R package, 347 awhp and 296 awtq. Not sure yet which way I am going to go but I am leaning towards the RS2, more reliable and still fun....

Yeah, I'm still unsure as to whether I should keep the biturbo design with K04's instead or if I should go to something like a GT28 or GT30. Guess I'll just have to do more searching.

FYI, people on Audi/VW forums are douchey hahaha. It's like frickin' NASIOC x's 1000. I haven't posted anything on any of the forums, but it seems like anytime someone new posts something, they get flamed instantaneously.

Thesis: This is probably the best board on the interwebz.

There's something I can agree with someone on in this thread. My Legacy hasn't rolled in over 4 years, yet I still come here. Even with some of you weirdo Audi masochists. I tried checking out a few other forums, but even if they're not douchey, it's not the kind of friendly place this is. Some are down-right strange. I joined the legacygt board years ago and even had some nut job send me some kind of Christian sect religious book. What a humorless place that was.

Yea, stay away from vwvortex at all costs, the classifieds seem to be safe, but that's it. They're not too bright over there either, there was a kid trying to sell an R32 Golf for $80k a month or so ago  and while most people were laughing at it there were still a lot that didn't think it was out of the ordinary. Granted I think he had $80k in it, that doesn't do much for the value of the car...

And a 2000, I dunno about STi killer stock  but a fun car, I almost bought a B5 A4, and they're definitely way nicer than our Legacys

Haha it may just be that my friend with an STi is a shit house driver then, because I definitely pulled on him. That said, if I chip this car it would DEFINITELY kill any stock STi. I'm just happy because I couldn't even touch STi's before.

I go here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/index.php

A lot better the VWVortex...... People are pretty nice and knowledgeable.

Agree this is still the best forum out there!

Also, my plan was to keep this beast stock, but I think I've been bitten by the mod bug already....

Love it.

And I'd say it's more of a mod virus, not easy to get rid of, and it never dies, just sits inside you, waiting for some group buy or some deal in the classifieds to awaken it.

Oh you poor bastard, what have you done to yourself?? Those damn German cars with their sexy creature comforts, facade of good engineering, and unbelievably low resale value... They've roped in another poor unsuspecting sucker!

From multiple (sadly) experiences: sell it at first whisper of an electrical or seemingly simple mechanical issue. I've said it before; they are not to be trusted....

But hey man, congrats. Thats a sweet car!

I get tired of saying it, but no, I don't agree. Though it holds true for VW more than any other affordable European cars(okay besides French cars). I wish people would stop lumping in VW with other German cars though. And where you see over engineered, I see good design, whereas I get under the hood of the Subaru and go "What the f*** were they thinking." Spark plug placement is a good example here.

But the electronics can be a killer, I'll give you that. The car won't have any more mechanical issues than anything else, but your dash lights, window motors, anything electric like that, will break/go out, there's so damn much of it that it has to happen.

Oh and OP, don't listen to anyone about how "difficult" changing the suspension on these is, if you plan to do that. I've changed the suspension on a B5 A4, which should be the same, it's not hard, time consuming because there are a lot of pieces, especially compared to Subarus, but it's pretty self explanatory.

I figured there would be a few headaches here and there with these cars, but nothing TOO intense. It sounds like if you keep up on the maintenance (which I plan on doing and the previous owner definitely did) and don't bash the car around, they can last quite awhile.

Apex, I actually took a look at a suspension thread and everything looked fairly straight-forward. These cars have the 'double wishbone' setup, just like my friend's S2K, so I'm not worried about it at all. Thanks for giving me hope about this car! Hahaha.
