Are you talking NA or turbo. If these are a turbo manifold dont bother for any reason.

Yes there is no need unless you have already done everything and have some twin scroll setup of something.STI's have pretty much the exact same manifold as our cars.

Also, if you get a bigger diameter header it will reduce your velocity and hurt your turbo performance.

People make 500whp on the OEM exhaust manifold, so I wouldn't worry about it.

There is a stock manifold that is a little more equal length. It may help a little bit, but I don't know if I'd say it's going to make a huge difference.
I think some of the newer USDM turbo cars utilize this manifold as well as the older non-US cars.

When I get the money I'll be getting mine from Grimmspeed here's a link to the info. Well i can't get the link to work for the exact page but if you go to Grimmspeed and click on porting/ ceramic coating service you'll see what i'm talking about. Basically they P&P and ceramic coat the stock manifolds and include a high flow crossover pipe. This is what I consider to be the best, opinion of course. Obviously I'm retarded when it comes to posting links, so just go to grimmspeed.com

Here's a link to I believe what you were talking about
P&P Exhaust manifold w/ hi flow crossover pipe
I still think the JDM equal length headers will flow pretty good in stock form without p&p.

That's the one, thanks Josh. I've actually never even heard of the JDM equal length headers until this thread, I guess I've been slacking on my homework. I really don't want to lose the GROWL, but equal length headers maybe the way to go if I ever make enough power for it matter
I just reread your post and you said that they seem to be a "little" more equal lenth, so I guess not full equal length. I wonder if this is why my car seems a little more aggressive than some of the newer WRXs?

If you look at the pictures I posted you can see how the runners are shaped to give each tube a more equal length run.
I'm not sure what model they came in, or if they made it to the states.

So basically the new header is interchangeable though?
