We have over in the UK got a copy made of the Works rallycar lamp pod, the mould was taken off a genuine ex Markku Alen pod. They are a bare fibreglass pod with no fittings or lamps but have the holes cut for your own lamps to be fitted. At the current exchange rate they will be about $320 plus the postage.

I appreciate these aren't cheap but they really are well made being moulded by an ex TVR cars body technician.

If you are interested you can get in touch with me at FORRESTMSPORT@AOL.COM

Cheers Steve

Yep, same TVR's that were made in Blackpool England, 70's V6's and the later 80's wedges with V8's and even later Cerberras ect.....

Came real close to buying a restored TVR 2500M. Still not sure why I didn't buy that one. It's an absolute shame we didn't get any of the Peter Wheeler-era cars. Unreliable? So are VWs, but without the character, looks, or balls.

Do you have a better picture of the front of that car, all done up? I really want to see what those looks like...

My good friends father had a TVR for a real long time... I forget the model (EDIT: 2500M), but if he got up over 100 with the windows open the back window blew out (it was an all fiberglass fastback). Those had Triumph motors? Or just dual sidedraft strombergs that made me think it was a triumph motor? (EDIT: yes, and zenith strombergs)

Sorry, OT...

How are the lamps mounted in the pod? Just tabs on the lamps with standoffs screwed into the fiberglass?

Morgan, the 2500M was a Triumph 2.5. They also sold a 1600 and 3000, the latter being a Ford Europe V6, but not in the US. The only car that had an opening hatch was the Taimar version, again, only sold in Europe. Talking to 2500M owners, the cars are decently reliable. I'm surprised it was a 2500 one with the window blowing out as that's somethign I'd expect of an earlier model Grantura or Griffith (Ford V8. Fast) or something—they got lighter as they drove as pieces fell off behind them. The rear windows on the 2500s are impossible to find now (unless someone recently started remaking them).
