JDM TD05-16g - SOLD

As the title says, I have a TD05-16g that I'm looking to get rid of. It is the JDM variant so it has the cast 90* inlet elbow.

Minimal shaft play and looks to be in great condition. It does not come with oil or coolant lines though.

I was going to use it for my 93' but ended up with a different turbo that is more suited to my goals.

I'm asking $450 shipped to the lower 48. I'm open to shipping elsewhere and if you're interested and need other shipping options we can certianly talk.

Let me know if you have any questions. I don't have pictures but can locate some if you need them. It looks like every other TD05-16g though, just with a cast elbow :).

Thank you.

Bump. Summer's closing in folks and race season is rapidly closing. I know someone is bound to benefit from a new strong turbo.

Jordan, thank you for the kind words.

Just another bump, I'll be posting this on Nabisco next week.

Bump.

I decided not to post it on Nabisco. I'd rather keep it or see it go on a Legacy.

Lee, if you still have it when I get the '91 running right I'll be interested. Looking for an ECU for it right now to hopefully fix the problem. That turbo would meet my power goals, and the 90 degree intake would be nice for a stock route intake setup.

Gabe,

Awesome. This thing hasn't seen much interest so there's a good chance it'll be around. I'm hoping that the ECU fixes your problems, sounds like you're right at the edge of getting it right. While I was reading through the electrical sections of the FSM I did see a few references to the purge valve and BCS stating upon failure the ECU uses fuel cut to prevent overboosting.

I did see your sale thread, you have some very nice items. The only thing I'm really look for is tires and a set of rims (maybe). I'm not sure about the WRX rims you have - do you have any pictures of them on the legacy? How bad is the camber wear?

Truthfully, I'm really more interested in the money for the turbo so I can get some Azenis tires and pay for the finishing my build. The rims I'm really looking for are 5-spokes, some prodrive p-7s, or early STi BBS rims (though the last two are little out of my range right now).

here u go. Slapped em on just for you. Camber wear is bad on two of the tires, like wire showing bad. 2 ore decent.

Florin, thanks for taking the time to mount them for me. They look beautiful. I'm still thinking about it but please don't hold them if someone else is stepping up to buy them.

I'm trying to figure out how much they weigh. You don't know by chance do you? I'm trying to keep my unsprung weight down which is why I've been wanting the RS wheels but I also wouldn't mind a nice set of 17's for summers. With the tire wear, I won't be able to run them so I'll still be in need of new tires.

The price you're asking is a steal for a good set of rims though which is why I'm still on the fence - and how they look.

Is there any curbage on them?

Your picture - you are running stock SS brakes in the front?

Don't know how much they weigh but i can jump on the scale and hold one. 1 wheel has about 4" of minor curbbage, the other 3 are good. Yes stock ss brakes for now... I have 4 pots sitting on the shelf, i just haven't put them on yet because i think I'm gonna have the paint stripped and gonna powder coat them a crazy color

Florin, I found out how much they weigh. It looks like they're about 20.5lbs for just the rims. I'm still on the fence and thinking about it - though much harder now. One thing though, I won't be coming over to western WA anytime soon so I'd need to have them shipped and I also would not have any need for the tires. Would you be willing to dismount them for me and ship? Like I said, I'm still thinking on it and please don't feel obligated to hold them for me. I'm just trying to figure out my options.

Turbo meow, your question is a little vague. You can run this turbo on a stock setup if you keep the boost down. It's a matter of how far do you want to go? The turbo is capable of 300+ chp but you have to adjust your system accordingly.

Florin, after a LOT of thinking about this I think I'm going to have to pass for right now. My budget doesn't really allow an asethetic purchase like this just yet. I do appreciate all your patience and willingness to answer questions while I figured out what I want to do - thank you. Best of luck with the sale - it is a great deal.

So, that leaves my turbo up for sale still.

Lee, do you know if the oil and coolant lines from the VF11 would work correctly? Or would I have to scrounge up some lines from something else?

Gabe, I think they will work with some bending. I have the oil line for it and I have a couple of coolant lines. I ended up using one of the coolant lines off it for my car due to the bends it had - worked better for me. But the turbo would come with an oil line and two coolant fittings. It'd be up to you to make them work for your setup. Beyond that, I'm not really sure but some searching would probably turn up an answer ;).

Well, if I do decide to go this way it will be done after considerable researching. ;)

Good to know that you do have some coolant/oil lines, it's always better to deal with a selection instead of just one set. :P

Might be interested in this, I have gold RS 5-spokes with tires. I'm preparing to tear down my motor at the moment, will get back to you when I know how I want to proceed. I'm in no rush and it seems you aren't either.
EDIT: Went ahead and listed my old turbo, injector, intercooler setup for sale on here, we'll see how the interest is. If that stuff sells I'd be very willing to pick this up. Where can I get oil and coolant lines for this turbo?
