Hey everybody.
Im not new to legacy central and by no means new to the car world.

I'am currently in the process of converting my 1990 fwd auto legacy to 5spd and awd.

My question is if parts from a 1999 legacy L awd will be interchangeable?

Thankyou!

You should be able to use the flywheel, clutch, tranny, prop drive shaft, and rear end. I don't know about the rear crossmember, exhaust, gas tank, and suspension.

Hmm. Well i found one for $300.
But now i just found a AWD, 92 AWD Standard Legacy. Im thinking that would be better to use?

There's no reason any of the stuff from the 90 model year won't work with your swap. In fact I'd suggest using a 90-91 donor vs. a 92-94 donor. The rear strut mount setup is different.

The 92 will work, if you wanted to go that route. It may not have a rear anti-sway bar depending on the model. The 90-91's all had rear anti-sway bars.

As far as wagon & sedan. The fuel separator is different. The strut & spring rates are different on the wagon.

If you haven't read over my swap write-up I'd recommend looking at it as I've done exactly what you're wanting to do.
