Sounds awesome, actually... but why the F would they pick the TT??

That sounds like a cool program. A very defined 'sucess/failure' criteria :).

As far as choosing teh TT, sounds like a logical platform. It has the handling, braking, acceleration for quick program responses reducing the time required for the algorithym to 'plan ahead' and provides a quicker correction logic. And if it has drive-by-wire steering, braking, and throttle stock then it's less mechanical systems they have to custom fab. It all starts becoming just an electronics/programming game at that point.

Cool find Josh!

Right so... find out what service their using for their GPS and everyone with that service make calls at the moment the car leaves the starting line and see if we cant cause enough latency for the GPS to fail and the car to shoot straight off the first turn!

Kidding, but funny. Seriously Id like to see how well this actually works and how much the car can compensate for the GPSs response time.

Because the TT (or any Audi) is a great car to run off the side of a mountain...duh!!

Drive by wire scares me. No thanks. I didn't know they had drive by wire steering? That sounds ludicrous. Not that drive by wire brakes and throttle are a good idea...but at least with mechanical steering you can still choose what you want to hit when your brakes fail and your throttle sticks.
