flickr wont let me post the bigger pics anymore, just the thumbnails.
anyways, i used all od tubing welded to a 3 1/4 od by 2 1/4 od 14 gauge stainless reducer.
There is a little bit of tubing in the reducer to create vacuum for the f pipe line. I hope it's working.

If you want to make a little money, you could create a few more.
Some of us ordered the replacement piece from MRT Australia that is just like that.
( Cost me $100 to get it )
Something to think about.

i wish i could make more. I'm a fitter though and i'd have to bug welders to do all the welding.
I can however supply the material and drill the holes in the reducer.
The rest of the cold air intake is built im just waiting to find the right K&N. I am going to use the biggest one i can fit in the bottom of the fender.
On a side note, my car has less power in the rain or wetter pavement. This was even with my old coffee cup that matt44 has now. After taking off the pre turbo elbow i noticed drops of water.
So, my k&n panel filter is letting moisture through.
Im thinking maybe my maf is getting wet now too, throwing it off a bit, or, my k&n doesnt flow well when it gets damp?

Just curious, what's the point? Isn't the center section the only one that's really neccesary to replace? Why bother with the extra welds?

take a look at the inside of your pre-turbo elbow. Terrible design for airflow. I think subaru built it this way for longevity and to allow flex. It's bad enough having two elbows right before the turbo nevermind having one with ridges on the inside.
The gains are noticeable with my td05. The turbo has a much nicer whistle to it and it vastly improved spool times. It's very close to where my td04 was with the old intake. i'm really looking forward to getting rid of my panel filter soon.

hmm.. would that include the tubes pre-bent? So all Someone would have to do is weld them together?
Id be looking for the regular coffee cup mod, not the EXTREME one from above haha

i take it you seen the one i sold matt? that one is pretty good but it was only done by one of our o.k welders. You should see the stuff our top welders put out. These guys are some of the best in the world from around the world. They can weld any type of metal you can think of. Weve even had people come in thinking we used machines to weld. But the one i gave matt was fully purged so it will far exceed his lifetime.
