So, do you glue it on or something? I'm not seeing how one would fasten it.

Ahhhh. I guess the posted pic is a bit deceiving.

That's a pretty sweet unit at a good price for a stock location turbo.

And if you could take and post pics of it from different angles that would be great. Or, at least, let us know if the intake path is smooth or too abrupt or kinked. From the pic I'm trying to figure out what it looks like internally.

Another pic

It should work perfectly and will have no restriction and will sit perfectly as well!

Look at how I did my setup the first time this piece should have NO issues fitting and won't have the restriction the blue 90 I had offered.

Probably not for a month or two. I am spending a bunch of money first on some body work so no money for turbo.

ahhh, no worries, my turbo is on the way here but i still need the gaskets and such. Is that piece meant to fit the TD04? if so I could buy it if I have money first and test it. If its not for sure gonna fit I don't really wanna buy it though

the blue 90 looks like less of a restriction.

i know it probably wouldnt happen, but i feel like the turbo would suck in the front wall of the black 90.

Agreed. The black elbow looks like it has a pretty indirect flow path

TD: Is there more restriction than a normal '90 Degree Silicone Elbow'?

From 034Motorsport:
No more restriction, just a tighter bend, but the ID remains the same
throughout.

Hope this helps!

Yea, I didn't really think it would be more restrictive, but the "bend" isn't as "smooth", not quite sure if that would actually effect flow or not but I don't see why it would.

Also, the the 2.5" end may be too big, if using the stock 90 turbo elbow w/a piece of pipe, etc. to connect....it's also 2.25" - same as the TD04 turbo's inlet.

90 Degree Tight Radius Rubber Elbow 2.375" - 2.5" = "2.375" to 2.5" inner diameters"

Here's similar/same ELBOW for $15.
Cobra head elbows are used when clearance is extremely limited, such as when an air cleaner outlet is up against a firewall. There is no other way to make a really tight bend without losing air flow. How does the cobra head make such a tight bend without increasing turbulence? Because it flares out, creating more volume internally without increasing length. Use a cobra head anywhere a standard or short-radius elbow will not fit. Temp rated at 250-275F.

This is the special version to fit most one-barrel carburators (straight part on top of carb must be long enough to clamp elbow on securely). The 2-5/16 end is the short end. The long end is the 2.5" end. Can also be used in other applications where sizes are close - for example the 2-5/16" end will stretch to 2.5" with some effort (it will also clamp down onto 2-1/4" easily). Made in USA.

is that the one that would work for the TD04? If so I will order one for my install, then I would just need the gaskets and such.

I bought the ELBOW locally for $16.09 (website is wrong) @ Air Flow Systems after doing some Googling.

After talking w/the counter person I decided there'd be too much slack (?) in the large vertical end, so I also bought a 2.5-2.25" reducer for $14.74.

See the pics below. I'm not convinced this is better than a 90' Silicone elbow:
1. It's wider @ the base and just barely clears the vac hose on the IM.
2. It has to be pushed up on the inner step of the TD04's inlet-It won't fit between the turbo and IM if tightened down on just the 1st step.
3. The turbo's vac nipple is angled back and the vac hose (to the BCS) is a tight fit.
4. The rubber is not super-stiff, IMHO, and the flat back part near the IM is relatively soft. I'm hoping it doesn't collapse under boost....been there done that (search on "boost drops to 0" :( )
5.
