Stud #2 FALLS Out. *sinking stomach*

So I thought I could hear my valves under boost, which I remember once back when that I had a loose exhaust bolt. So I get the car up and I start to see if any of the three manifold to head bolts on the turbo side needed tightning. The middle one does...and spins ...and spins... then just lets go of the stud ... threads firmly attached around the stud like a slinky...
*insert stomach sinking #1 here*
Then I go to the outside bolts... one is tight as can be, thats good. The other repeats the middle bolt..and births another slinky. Barf City.
So my exhaust manifold is being held on by one bolt thats ACTUALLY in, another bolt that has been lightly tapped back into place with the slinky around it + loctite blue *ashamed*
This engine is next to be resealed, right now I'm in the middle of the XT. ...if you're interested

Ahem... so anyway, Anyone have any ideas that might fix the problem temporarily, until i can get the XT back together, and take the legacys engine out and have the thing to the machinists??
harumph!

No no... the stud FELL OUT. As in I looked up into the hole where i should see threads in the aluminum, but all i see are slick shiny NON-threaded walls.... the stud has nothing to grip... until i take the engine out, and get the heads machined and new STEEL drop-ins because threads in aluminum is insane... insane!

Helicoils get a bad rap for some reason but if used correctly are badass. In reality you are better off with them in place of aluminum threads anyways.12mmx1.25 is what you need for those i believe.Napa should have a kit right there.

I dunno why but that line had me crackin up!
HeliCoils are great. Actually all the bolts holding my oil pump in place on my metro engine are helicoiled lol. I've always had great success with helicoil. I've only done them in aluminum though. But the block is aluminum so you should be good to go.

I haven't purchased it yet. But i did find This:
Harbor Freight Helicoil
And also this:
How to Install a Helicoil
I called around and an obscure napa in town finally had one for the $42. I assume the kit has the drill bit, the tap, and the helicoil setting tool.

I got mine at autozone and I believe it was cheaper than that. I want to say more like $18. Comes with like 10 helicoils and the bit.

SO! took my micrometer out and the bolt is a 14mm, the Inner diameter of the hole was about 9.9## so yeah, its 10mm.
10X1.25
Autozone has them for $29.99 (the kit)
Kragen/O'Rileys has them for $24.99
