What would you do?

I currently have a 92 touring wagon with ~350,000km been running 9-10psi for the past 30,000 and its currently running strong with a slight issue (believe its knock sensor)
a buddy and I were offered a running 91 turbo sedan with stock 5speed and lsd rear diff (my buddy has a 92 turbo auto sedan) for $1000
so we were thinking of buying it as a parts car $500 each he gets full tranny swap i get motor and lsd plus what ever little bits we need before parting out the car and scrapping it
now i dont need a motor but was thinking of grabbing the ej22t and slowly building it up on an engine stand before swapping it into my wagon and selling my old motor
do you guys think this is a good plan/idea and what would you do to build up the motor
i was thinking dohc heads with td04 or td05 and redo all seals for a mild but quick swap
worth it? let me know what you think
