Wheel Offsets, same as impreza?

i have been searching on the Impreza board and many of them said that
most subarus need at least +48mm offset if we don't want any rubbing
of the fender during hard cornering... i was wondering if it is the
same for our legacys of if we could use less offset.. say +45mm
or+42mm... becoz as we all know, not many wheels are made in that
offset... i would really like those WRX 5 spoke rims but its hard to
find those rims in north america.. only MY98 or MY99 have those type
of rims.... anyone has any expierience with rims on their cars?

Wheel Offsets, same as impreza?

It depends.....I have 45+ backspacing, and I still had to have a little fender shave in the rear. But I have no rub now. You will be hard pressed to find anything with an offset that high. Unless it's a japanese racing wheel or specifically for subaru.

Wheel Offsets, same as impreza?

Currently I have ET44, but I'm using 195/60 tires, which works ok.
Had some MAJOR problems before, though, I broke a brand new pair of
Pirelli 5000's almost immediately after I had mounted them (and my
new rims, ET38) when I went for I test-drive. I thought I heard some
weird noice in the first thight left corner, but kept on driving
(idiot!), and when I heard the same noice after a tight right, I went
out for a look.... the side of both rear tires where cut-thru by the
sharp "fender edge" (I have removed the plastic surroundings).... a
few quite ugly words came to mind...

Wheel Offsets, same as impreza?

AFAIK all Subarus made after 1990 use the exact same
hub and bolt pattern which is 5x100. Also I have been
told that each car has the same offset which is +53 mm
from the factory. So evey Subaru rim after 1990 will
fit any other Subaru car although if your looking for
aftermarket you will be extremly hard pressed to find
an offset that big, as you already know. But anything
over 48 you should not have a problem, but I would not
recomend going any smaller than that, don't quote me
on that though I have been known to make some
mistakes.

Wheel Offsets, same as impreza?

There is one thing to consider though, that is that 14" subaru rims won't work on a turbo car. We have 2 pot brakes and the 14" rims don't clear them, even with the right offset.

15" is the minimum.
