Fun Stuff To Do In Portland?

It looks like I'm flying up to Portland this Friday to visit my little sister and hang out for about a week. I've never been anywhere in the PNW before, so I'm pretty excited to get away for a few days and check out the town.
So...I'm looking for some fun stuff to do or interesting places to visit around Portland. I'd love to hear any recommendations you all have since I'll have some free time there and a rental car. I'm open to most things...however, I'm an old guy at 39

, so I'm not huge into the party scene; I
am a huge gearhead though, so any automotive/motorsports places would be at the top of my list. Ideas?
TIA
-Greg

Check out Powell's Books and Voodoo Doughnut. Also the Saturday farmer's market at Pioneer Square downtown is amazing. The International Rose Test Garden is awesome too, though I'm not sure what it's like this time of year.

I didn't get to a lot of placed I had planned on seeing, except for Powell's which was great. What a great town though, I saw lots of cool places and ate a lot of good food.
I
did pick up a great souvenir though, check it out...from a TW with about 100,000 miles.
