hey guys,

i've seen a lot of posts about people doing the auto to manaul swap and using the wrx 5sp. i want a 6spd is there really any difference to makeing it work. i guess really the only question i have about it would be the wireing of it. is it the same or is there some differences? cause i know it will bolt in with the right parts. thanx

It depends on what you want or need to wire. A DCCD controller means you'll be splicing. O2 sensors, I couldn't tell you. I don't use any factory O2 business. If you are capable of swapping the tranny, you are capable of splicing some wires.

Wiring in an old five speed is the same as wiring in the 04 through 07 six speed. The DCCD has its own connector and is dealt with however you like, including leaving it unhooked.

The big difference to making it work is getting the right support parts like axle stubs, matched clutch setup (can be a complete five speed unit) and shift linkage. Kleinkid has one IIRC
