Anyone purchased a brand new OEM BPV?

I think I am going to buy a brand new OEM BPV. Anyone bought the OEM valve and found any difference? Seems like when rolling, the valve is not fully closed, but from a start if, I slam it is fine yet the response isn't quiet there all the time depends how long I have been sitting idling.

I figure the valve is now 16+ years old and it is probably due for replacement after all the blow by oil it has seen in it's life. Think it is worth the $70 brand new?

Bought a new BPV, and speedocable will update how the BPV affects how the car drives.

how much was the speedo cable?
I too noticed that the stock bpv can leak some boost from time to time.
I got a forge 006 dv to replace the stock unit I'll post a link with pics when its installed later this week.

It was only $30 here near Toronto. BPV came out to $100.

sounds like a good purchase for a beautifull old car. Thats a hundred canadian= sounds fair for a truely premium product that fits oem. A "universal" Bosch Bpv costs that much here basically.

I just noticed ur other post that describes the condition of the origanal (: Great post should be made a sticky:)

Anyway I am now dying to know if a replacement diaphram could be made, sourced or, replaced with a similar diaphram from say cheap Ebay BPV or BPV parts lists? Anything?

I don't think it's worth the time to take it apart. If my fuel economy increases 5mpg or so, I would say $100 was worth it with gas savings. I found there wasn't really much power when it hit boost. I remember whenever I fixed a air leak made a huge difference. With a new valve I think the car should drive awesome. Only other thing that could result in poor performance is a worn turbo. Compression showed up fine, no knocking, all sensors seem within spec and all other hoses are good as far as I know.

My fuel economy is most likely really bad because I am jumping up to 8psi all the time, where as with the new BPV sealing properly I can probably keep boost around a couple psi and have plenty of power.
