Turbo Heatshield Install

With an intercooler on the way I thought that reducing under hood temps might be a good idea. I came across this OEM EJ20 heatshield and decided to give it a try.
After some trimming it fit just fine and I think it looks pretty good. This is very basic as far as installs go but I figured I'd do a write up anyway.
Time taken:
Approximately 1.5 hours (including a trip to the hardware store to get the bolts)
Parts used:
-EJ20 OEM heatshield - $40 @ fastwrx.com
-OEM heatshield bracket - $20 @ fastwrx.com
-(3) M6x10x1.00 bolts - $.75 @ local hardware store
-(3) Washers - $.30 @ local hardware store
(You may need more bolts and/or washers if you use more than the mounting points only found on the bracket. Also, you may not need any washers if your bolt heads are a little bigger than the ones I used. I just took the bracket to the hardware store and tried various bolts until something worked.)
Tools needed:
-Flat head screwdriver
-14mm socket
-14mm wrench
-10mm socket (depending on the bolts you get)
-Dremel, tin snips or other cutting tool for trimming
-PB Blaster (optional)
Procedure:
-1) Collect all your parts, tools, and let the engine cool completely!
-2) Use the flat head to loosen the worm clamps and remove the charge pipe.
-3) Using your 14mm socket and wrench, remove the top two bolts connecting the turbo to the downpipe. My bolts needed a soak in PB Blaster to loosen things up.
-4) Install the bracket and tighten the bolts back up.
-5) Slide the heatshield on and test fit. Mark up what needs to be trimmed.
-6) Trim off any unwanted pieces. What/if you trim is up to you. Since one of the old bolts that once mounted my chimney to the downpipe had sheered off, I just decided to trim the bottom portion of the heatshield off and only utilize the three mounting points found on the bracket. If you have an aftermarket downpipe, more trimming may be necessary.
-7) Mount your newly trimmed heatshield on and bolt it up. The mounting holes allow for some adjustment so make sure no part of the heatshield is rubbing or touching anything other than the bracket.
-8) You may want to check/retighten everything after a couple of hundred miles.

By the way, I would imagine heatshields like the SPT model, which mount to the bracket on the '06 and '07 intercoolers would work also but not having an intercooler installed yet, I can't comment on those.
So there you go. When I install my intercooler, I'll update this to include any possible interference with the piping to the intercooler. Definitely a small "upgrade" but worthwhile I think.
