i was wondering if a wagon rear bumperbeam was any different that a sedan rear bumper beam or if they were compatible. i need a beam for my 92 ss and all i have is one from a 91 wagon. anyone tried this?

I think they're likely the same knowing Subaru and that it doesn't attach in any way that should be affected by the difference in bumper covers, but I couldn't say for sure. It would probably be worth a shot if you need to remove the old one anyway. New ones aren't cheap (IIRC, ~$300), though in your area where rust isn't bad, you can probably get a JY one that will be OK. Mine's pretty rusty as all the crap that gets kicked up by the rear wheels hits it, but buying a new one isn't worth the cost, so it's being cleaned up as best as I can and getting reused.

They're different part #'s between sedan & wagons, and even 90-91 MY's and 92-94 MY's. You may be able to get it to work, but there would likely be some tweaking that would need to be done.
