EJ22/EJ22T hybrid...............

I have 2 complete engines. 1 EJ22T in pieces (thrown rod bearing) and an N/A EJ22 complete..

Not sure if it was posted on this board, but, IIRC I can install the EJ22T heads and turbo related parts onto the N/A block without changing the pistons?.............I would have to use the thicker head gaskets though.

Am I correct in my thinking?

Do I need to / should I swap in the turbo pistons too??
Cheers!

Your compression ratio will be too high. The pistons in the non-turbo motor are not dished the same that the turbo pistons are to lower compression ratio.

I would not recommend just swapping pistons from the turbo motor to the non-turbo motor. There are different stock size pistons, A, B, C. There is an indication on the front top portion of the block that specifies what size pistons are in there. If they are different sizes, that would create issues. Additionally, the rings will not be seated/worn for the particular grooves in those cylinders, and can cause loss of compression.

Fix the turbo engine.
