i have a problem with the legacy and i'm stumped. went to leave work today and when i fired it up it began to run really rough. the check engine light also came on. so i drove it home and it's low on power and sputtering badly. so i had to keep the rpm's up to get it to highway speed. got it home and pulled the codes and i got this
11- crank sensor
14- injector 1
15- injector 2
16- injector 3
24- air control valve
i had no check engine light or codes prior to this.
i disconnected the battery to reset and without even starting the car i still get the same codes
what i don't get is it ran fine up to the point when i shut it off this morning and now its acting like this.
anyone have an idea about this?

Not sure about the codes, but mechanically it sounds like the timing belt might have jumped a tooth. Could be a failing tensioner.

Try running the d-check mode diagnostic with the green connectors. Instructions are on my site. www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/engine.html

# 2 is the front driver's side. However, I'm not sure you read the codes correctly. There shouldn't be any flashes between codes.

So there was one long flash, five short flashes, and then 4 long or short flashes?

well it was kinda hard to watch the light and drive at the same time but it was flashing a code 15 and after i stopped the car i watched it and thats when it flashed 4 times in between. does that have to do with the car being stopped. i then pulled the ecu fuse to reset it. after that i started the car and the light came on but would go out for about 10 seconds and come back on. and this went on until i shut off the car. i then plugged the black connectors together and only got a code 15.

well it was the #2 injector. i replaced it with another one and it's running fine. the tip of the one i pulled out was cracked.

update: went to start the car this morning and it started to run rough the same as before. i used the green connectors and got no codes. i then used the black connectors and got a code 14 and 15 injector 1 and 2. so i then pulled the ecu fuse to reset. about an hour later i replaced the fuse and started the car it still ran rough. after it got to normal temp i reved it up about 3 times and then it straitened out and ran fine. i took it for a drive and it's running fine. anyone know what to make of this?
