Need some help with wiring and meters...

As i've stated in my post in the 22t/20h thread, i can't get my SS to start. It's problem appears to be a weak spak. I have done just about everything i can that's bolt on to fix this problem.
Now i'm to the point where i think i need to trace wires
Here's my question(s)
When tracing wires, do i need to check for resistance? If so how much resistance am i looking for? I am assuming 0 resistance between the plug for the coil pack and the source of the wires correct? should i also do this for my ignitor?
It's starting to really piss me off lol...

Good wiring should have 0 resistance from the connector to the ECU or where ever it's going. If you have 0.1 to 0.4 ohms that'll probably be ok and not cause your problem. But it's not ideal. Anything more and you may have a degraded wire.

thank you for the info, i'll update when i get a chance to check out the wiring.

oh, another thing... would it be best to have the battery and ecu disconnected/unplugged so they don't interfere with my readings or would it even matter
i ask becaue i know it would be easier to get the leads in the plugs from where they go to the other plugs then from behind trying to fight with and rubber grommets inside the plugs

Yes, disconnect the ECU as it will effect the readings. In fact, various steps of the FSM for troubleshooting codes (and thus ecu circuits/components) has you often disconnect the harness from the ECU.
Also, you also want to test for a short to ground on circuits that shouldn't be grounded.

What do you mean by this?
I'm still an amature when it comes to cars kinda, i know alot but not enough obviously... i have NEVER had to diagnose an electrical problem...
I checked resistance from the coil plug to the ignitor plug and the checked the resistance from the ignitor plug to ecu and everything cam up with 0
I even checked SBF No. 4

Have you checked the troubleshooting flowcharts in the FSM for the coil and ignitor?

if you mean resistance values between the spark plug terminals and resistance at the cloil plug itself, yes i have
I haven't been able to check the ignitor, but i have 3 or 4 ignitors and theres a small (although highly possible) chance that all 4 of them are bad. how o i check the ignitor?

Messed around with my car alarm too, found out that's not the issue... this is uber lame.

Did spencer look at it?

I was thinking more about continuity in the wires between the ECU and the coil and ignitor.

ok, how would i check for continuity? which spot is that on a meter?

is the ignitor properly bolted down and grounded?, I bought an ss and thats all that was wrong was it was just hangin there..plugged in but not grounded....everything must be installed as if ur ready to hit the road.

Resistance and continuity is the same thing.

hmm... it's only got one bolt on the bracket-to-shell instead of 2
Ok so then yes i checked resistance from the coil to the ignitor and the the ignitor to the ecu

To check for a short on that line, put one end of the test lead on the connector going to the ignitor or ECU, and then put the other test lead on the chassis body. There should be infinate resistance or no continuity.
If you have any kind of resistance, there is a chance there's a short somewhere in that circuit.

alright i'll try to mess with that again today.

Makes sense, i'll check that out too.

back out the bolt, check 4 rust and retighten it first , or put in 2 new shiny bolts for a guaranteed ground

Figured out the issue, a friend came over and looked at it and sure enough, it was something stupid....
the fuel lines were backwards and so i switched them and fied right up...
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
