so my friend has a 02 WRX and i helped him to pick this little instrument out. it is pretty cool if you haven not had a chance to look at it. it has rpm, vehicle speed, volts, mpg, throttle position, load and duty, timing advancement. you can change the rpm range by 300 up or down. then of course there are the map settings for sport, economy, and what ever else. you can do a dyno, 1/4 mile, and 0-60 times. anyway i was wondering why we are not able to use these? is there anyway we can use them without doing an ECU swap, but we just cant get all the features. there are many more i just cant remember them all, kind of makes we want a newer car. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Correct me if im wrong, but the reason it wouldn't work for is due to it tuning thru the obdII port which we obviously don't have on our cars. Not to mention our obdI ecu is fairly basic.

The closest matches for our cars would be an apexi power fc or the link storm 4 with the display in terms of tuning and the display.

RevScan exposes various things besides all the ECU parameters, fuel table, spark correction table, knock count table....

But bottom line, our ECUs are too old to really do any of the new/cool stuff that's easily done to ODB-II cars.
