Interesting article. I would like to talk to some people involved in the project.



One thing that caught my attention is that they are injecting diesel at low pressure into the cylinder. I'm curious if a high pressure common-rail system would have more control over the combustion event. I'm pretty sure it would though. All the new diesel engines inject fuel at multiple points during the combustion process. That is why they are so much quieter. The Duramax and Cummins were first to have that, and the new Powerstroke will finally sport that technology.
