Got the transmission tz102yb3ba-ge in my 91 T-Leg. Here is the issue: It grenaded my 3.9FD Differential that the car came with. SO i put in my other 3.9 diff and the car is having the same symptoms. It breaks the rear end loose when its wet and I'm in a corner upon reapplying of the gas pedal. The car also howls a little when coasting and i get back on the gas, it actually seems to brake for a second, before it starts to accelerate. Now I'm planning to do a 5spd swap in a month or so, but i don't want it to grenade this diff in the meantime too... I tried googleing my code but could not find my ratio. I want to know what ratio it is because the car does funny things and it feels like the trans and rear diff are fighting each other constantly. Any inputs?

Ok so today i disconnected my driveshaft because i do not want to grenade another Diff. Upon doing that, the car now doesnt want to move (transmission just slips. Car wants to move forward but free revs.) The only way i can get it to move is by shifting it to 1 or 2, which i believe is because that's where it locks up 50/50. So that's how i get the car rolling now from a stop. Shift trough the gears starting from 1.
My question is, can i weld up the transfer case/center diff so the car is locked up in all the gears? I only need this to last until i do my 5 spd swap.

Look around on Nasioc, I found a chart there awhile back with tranny codes/fd ratios/front diff/etc

Is that a USDM tranny? The numbers are suspicious. I think there is a good chance it's a 4.111 FD, it's not on my tranny chart though. Jack up all 4 wheels (have a safety driver in the seat ready to kill it) and count the revolutions of the tires.

It sounds like it's the wrong final drive. I accidently installed the wrong final drive rear diff in my 90 L wagon and you could feel it right away. The tires were breaking loose and struggling with each other. Plus I think you could hear it making noise.

I wouldn't drive it like that.

thats way past kimo. I'm well under way with the 5 spd swap. Just waiting for my flywheel, and then putting everything back in, plus a td05 and tmic, lol
