Guys, I have a 1996 subaru liberty auto AWD wagon. when i go around tight corners slowly like parking the car its almost as if the gearbox is binding up... to the point that i think ive got the brakes on. Is this a gearbox problem?
Cheers,
Rya

Welcome to the BBS Rya. You are experiencing torque bind. It can be caused by worn/burn transmission fluid creating deposits on the rear clutch plates.
You can try inserting a fuse into the FWD fuse holder in the engine and see if the problem goes away. If so, the duty c solenoid which controls the AWD system is working. From there, I would first start with draining and refilling the transmission with fresh transmission fluid. See if that helps. If not, you may need to have the rear clutch packs replaced.
