AC not working(conversion?)

So I just decided to see if my ac worked seeing as it didn't have a belt and I couldn't check it before. So I went out and bought a belt for it yesterday but no cold air. I did a little searching but the only thing I could find is to retrofit it by taking it to a proffesional.. I don't have the money for that and was wondering if there was anything else I could do. I heard there are recharge packs that are compatible with r12 but I haven't been able to find any. Any help is appreciated.

I forgot to mention that I have a 90 l. Also I don't see any thing moving in the looking glass, it looks empty. I'm goin to do the conversion I'm pretty sure. Is there any way that u can make sure that the compressor and other things still work before doing the conversion and seeing if the ac works? So I'm pretty sure all I need is a new reciever/drier, r134 recharge kit, and some pag100 oil. If every thing else is good. I have access to a vacum whenever I need also. So if I get all this I'm ready to do my conversion?

I added some things in this post as well.

As for checking things before you charge the system, it's a little difficult other than just checking for leaks and such.
