She runs and drives!

I know I've got plenty of tuning and work still to go yet - but - after sitting dormant since Nov. I drove my baby for the first time today!

It was glorious :-D

I didn't get on boost at all, my idle's way too high (around 1.6k), there's clearly some things I need to sort out on the MAFT-Pro tune. But she drove under her own power for about a mile, didn't overheat, didn't leak fluids all over the road, etc.

I know I'll have lot of tuning questions yet and I'll be throwing up lots of plots. However, for the time being I'm totally jazzed.

MANY thanks to everyone who's helped out this last winter to address all my questions and provide some guidance. I'd like to specifically thank individuals but I'm afraid I'll leave someone out. This build would not have happened without the support of the BBS.

Yes, I know I need pictures :), soon.

That's awesome. It's a great feeling of immense satisfaction. I got my car running and it felt amazing and I didn't even get to drive it! Congrats!

Are you going to WSCC?

Thanks. I've been enjoying a night of fast and the furious and mentally sorting out my tune. Life's good as they say...

Sadly, I won't be as WSCC. I've got a lot on the plate as is and aside from getting ready for racing (missed half the season already) I need to get myself back in shape for a late summer climb.

What kind of racing?

I just auto-x. Speeds stay relatively low (on occasion I'll bounce off the limiter in 2nd) and where I race is pretty risk free in terms of spinning out or sliding off track.

I used to rally hard on the forest roads and 'open track' some of the others late at night but I had enough times I almost killed myself that I got wise and/or older and just take it to the track nowadays.

I'd like to get back into rally or open track but I have neither the time nor money for those. Additinally I've come to understand that I'll need a new car to play in those two arena's - I openly admitt that I'd cry like a little girl if I stuffed in my beloved SS.

If I lost my legacy I think I might cry too. And I rarely ever cry. I have nightmares occasionally of disasterous things happening to my legacy. The last one was that I somehow started the motor without the heads on it (I never said these dreams made any sense :) ) and destroyed the block and internals.
