EJ257 Rods on EJ22T crank

Post by stef1825 »

Does it work?
What bearings do I use?
Do I need a custom piston?

They work fine, they are the same length. Same bearings.

It is only if you "stroke" the block by using the 2.5 crank (79mm versus 75mm) that you would need different pistons.

Buy some turbo ej25 pistons, and your machine shop will bore your block to fit them. You'll want to have the cylinders sleeved.

I would stay away from stock 2.5 pistons if you are going through the trouble. Wiseco pistons are not very expensive and are fine for most builds.

ej257 rods
K601M975 Wiseco Pistons
Head work
Full Set Gaskets
Rebuild kit for my Td05H-16G
550cc
Apexi piggyback (Tuned by reputable tuner + timing + blitz boost controller)
Turboback exhaust + Upipe
Sti slanted TMIC

Would that work?? aiming at 300 whp.... What do you guys think???

300 whp isn't going to happen with the 550's.....and that may or may not be the ragged edge of the TD05.

I am at about 90% IDC with the 550's and I'm about 8 hp shy of 300 chp.
