Car dies after changing out the Injectors...

First off, I love this website! Lots of helpful information.

When I bought my car, I was told that it wasn't firing on all four cylinders, you could tell by how the engine shook, and the previous owner said it was a bad injector. I picked up used fuel rails and injectors off a local guy and installed one side today. I got to the other side and just couldn't get the screws off for the rails so I said screw it, lets put everything back together and see how it runs, maybe the side I changed was the bad side.

I put everything back together tripled check all the hoses, and started it up. It jumped up to 2000rpms, then sharply drops off, shutters really badly and dies. If I get on the gas, I can keep it from stalling however, but if I left off, it dies again. I searched around here for someone who had a similar problem, and seemed liked most had a bad MAF, but mine was fine before I installed the new rails. Maybe I knocked it real hard when taking the intake out?

Oh and there was a CEL on before I swapped the fuel rails out, and no there isn't one at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can't wait to get this car running!

Did you plug each injector in to the correct plug? Make sure the FPR vaccum hose is on and not cracked. Check all vaccum lines around the intake that might of came off accidentally.

I'd suggest checking the ECU for stored codes. The info on how to pull the codes is on my site under notes & tips, engine related, www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/engine.html

I'm assuming the fuel rails and injectors you got off another car were for the turbo legacy, and pink in color?

Did you remove the intake manifold to replace the fuel rails? If so, I'd double check everything, as you may have a connector disconnected.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I checked the hoses again and couldn't find any ripped or disconnected ones. I also switched the plugs around and it didn't change anything.

Thanks for the link Legacy, I'll try that tomorrow. Yes they are pink in color and came off of another turbo legacy. I didn't remove the manifold, just worked my around the hoses and pulled it out. I figured I pulled one out, but nothing!
