I picked up this Toyota CT 26 Turbo, pretty big and im thinking i am going to do a rotated setup...

I don't know much about turbos so bare with me. I wanted to know what kind of external wastegate i would wanna get for this turbo. it is internally wastegated but don't know if i should stick with that or upgrade to externall wastegate.

That's a turbo supra turbo. How's the shaft play? Wastegate- Tial?

well the wastegate on it has a broken nipple, so im already watching another one on ebay that looks to have a good wastegate. shaftplay has NO in and out a little bit of up & down but nothing too major, i was told it's a good turbo and doesn't need a rebuild but i may do so anyways. don't know what Tial means.

Tial is a brand.

The CT 26 also came on the MR2 turbo.

didnt know that. Yeah Tial is an external WG brand. Reputable. I got if for my car.

well i am capable of welding i just can't seem to find an up pipe flange on ebay. only flanges i can find are for the ct26 to t3t4... i guess i could go that route, but then again i could just get a bigger bolt on too since i would have to fine a rebuild kit, up pipe flange, downpipe flange, rebuild kit, and gaskets...

I've had quite a bit of experience with the CT-26. Very upgradeable turbo's. I would try to stick with the internal gate if possible. These turbos LOVE Divorced downpipes

understandable but after thinking about it, 40 for an up pipe flange then 50 for a downpipe flange 70 for a rebuild kit 40 for misc gaskets... im up there with a bolt on td05 20 g off ebay...

since i have a td04 now with an under the manifold setup that's looking more desirable.....

i would love to do a rotated setup but maybe a gt35 would be more appreciated?

It may be more money and work, than its worth. You can get these turbo off supra forums fairly cheap. If your interested in getting rid of that Td04 lemme know

Yeah.. 3SGTE's ROCK my buddys got a 91 MR2 body with a 93 JDM swaped 3SGTE and that thing moves.. lol Sadness if it wasnt for scion lovers and so on... Toyota would probably still make great cars... MR2 turbo,Supra,Celica All-Trac....ect. Oh well atleast subaru still knows whats up.. lol

Not if they're forgetting fluid fill ports on newer transmissions....
