You sure those are subies? I'm not real familiar w/ the newer body styling (voluntarily), but those shells look awfully mazda to me.

Damn, you're right... Looking closer, the gas filler is different, and the rear 1/4 window is too. I didn't get a closer look at them. :?

Scary how similar they are without all the finishing touches.

Just by looking at the back corner window it's none of those vehicles.

I think they might be 2011 (Euro) Focus.

Ford Focus...I think you nailed it... some subtle differences in production details; the taillight blanks and rear door opening don't quite match, but the hatch is identical as are the wheel arches and door flare. I need to get a closer look next time. I'm assuming this shot of the '12 is an artists rendering
Remarkable how everyone's producing essentially the same vehicle.

I don't know why they don't imitate something attractive. I never understood that. For the most part, it costs the same to make an ugly car as it does an attractive one. The Fiesta is a particular disappointment as I was looking to maybe get one—like almost all cars today, it's much taller than it needs to be. I thought it would be smaller overall, but more superficial styling aside, the height just ruins the proportions, making it look goofy. Maybe the Focus will be better balanced. I've heard there may be a wagon, also.

Somebody's birthday present showed up yesterday. Paging Captain Morgan...

Those were definitely Focuses (Foci?) A few fully assembled cars showed up last week. Very nice actually, well appointed interiors. Probably the ones we WON'T get.

That's what we're finally supposed to be getting, but I've heard that before. If it IS what we're getting, I may be getting one personally. I'm a bit disappointed with the Fiesta—too tall and goofy looking and priced too close to a Mazda3 and the lightweight Mazda2 is too underpowered with worse mileage.

I love Morgan but I think you caught that Aero at the best possible angle—almost doesn't look cross-eyed. I can't wait for the Eva GT. VW could take a few lessons from them on how to incorporate an old grille into a (relatively) modern design.
