Ok im not new to subies, just picked up a 93 ss 5spd and have a few issues. And yes ive had turbo cars before so im familiar with mostly everything on this motor and have put together a few 22e's. Basically, car sputters under acceleration, and car stalls now and then when coming to a stop. Ive replaced the o2 sensor, plugs and wires. Im leaning towards the maf but just wanna get some input from everyone before i begin digging further into this. Thanks.

Welcome to the BBS. Is the CEL on? Even if it's not, I'd suggest checking the ECU for stored codes. Instructions are on my site if you don't have the info.

looked up codes, got a 24,33,and 49 .... 24 which is the air control valve says it causes a "fuel cut" . Gota try and fix that asap.. now could the 33 speed sensor be related to that 24 ? BTW replaced the maf last night so thats where the 49 code is prob coming from...

I'd suggest resetting the codes, drive the car and then see what comes back.
Does your speedo work? If so, code 33 may just be an erroneous code. Resetting the ECU and checking again will help to narrow things down.

If you remove the top (electro magnet portion) of the IAC, make sure to mark its exact position so you can place it back in the same spot.

Well I replaced the IAC, coil pack, and still same thing. But once the car hits 4k it pulls fine and runs awsome? I got a new fuel filter to put on tomorrow and some heavy duty lucas fuel system cleaner. Also pulled a plug and car is running super rich...

I wonder if you have one or more leaky injectors. How do the rest of the plugs look? And how's your gas mileage?

Once you cleared the codes did anything come back?
How many miles are on the car? Do you have any past maintenance recods? If you know it's running rich and the injectors are seated properly, you may want to replace the coolant temp sensor.

Well I just replaced the fuel filter , same result. I guess i will grab some injector O rings and a coolant temp sensor. No codes as of yet, car has 192k but motor was replaced before. Only mods are full 2 1/2 turbo back and intake. Like I said its weird , once it hits 4k it doesnt break up and pulls awsome...

Maybe someone in the past replaced the injectors with something bigger?
Sounds like the whole problem could be fuel related????

check your fuel injectors could be clogged. just get the ones for your car its a less hassle.
