Slave cylinder NOT pushing the clutch fork. can it be bypass

sorry for the dumb question but, im clutch master line right off the beggining from the clutch master cylinder to the (slave i guess?) on the side of the transmission (not the one pushing the clutch fork) is kinda leaky. I found out that line is $70 or so. But there is a shop locally that makes any line/hose and even SS braided lines for next to nothin.
So my question is can that mystery slave cylinder in the middle be bypassed if i were to replace that line. It would be directly from the clutch master to the slave like a normal car haha.
The problem is the clutch pedal is kinda sticking to the floor and wont fully disengage. I just put in a tranny from the junk yard with a new comp clutch 6 puck stage 5 clutch for a 02-05 WRX. I read the applications were interchangable, since it lined up perfectly. But i hope this doesnt have to do with why its not fully disengaging. When i first got the tranny all back together i had someone watch the fork as i pumped the pedal, he said it moved 2 inchs or so. I removed the boot for the slave (at the fork) and it was bone dry. I saw that the hose on the master cyl was a tad wet. First im going to start with replacing the hose, then if that doesnt work a clutch master $90cnd ouch! And thats with my shops high level discount.
anyone care to shed some light?
thanks
